75 Years at Vermont's Sun Mountain
75 Years! That's how long Bromley has been welcoming families to her sunny slopes. That makes us one of the longest serving family oriented ski and snowboard resorts in North America. During those 75 years Bromley has been a industry leader many times over and we are proud to celabrete how far we have come and where we are going.
Bromley Through the Decades

- Incorporated in 1936 from day one Bromley has been unique because as Ski Magazine put it, "if the sun is shining anywhere in southern Vermont it's shining on Bromley". Bromley was then and is now the only major ski area in New England with southern exposure, earning Bromley the designation as "Vermont's Sun Mountain".
- Bromley's first uphill lift came in 1939
- In 1946 Bromley became the first Ski area to have a slopeside fully certified nursery; our commitment to families and children has been prevalent ever since

- In the 1950's Bromley started the first JISP program, offering school children the opportunity to develop a lifelong love of skiing.
- In the 1960's Bromley was the first ski resort to spend a million dollars on snowmaking, and to the delight of our customers became the world’s largest snowmaker.

- In 1976 wanting to make Bromley a year round destination the Alpine Slide was installed, and was an instant sensation.
- In the 1980's the focus was on expansion of the Eastside. In came the Blue Ribbon Quad, Havoc, Pabst Panic, No Name Chute and a huge increase in snowmaking, taking Bromley to the next level in fun and challenge.
- In the 90's Bromley put in the High Speed Detachable Quad, Halo Terrain Park, and Expanded of the Kids Center.
- Throughout the early 2000's we brought in Valet Parking, The Sun Mountain Flyer Ziprider, Unforgiven BoarderX, and a huge investment in our snowmaking efficiency, making Bromley's snowmaking system state of the art.
- What does the next decade hold for Bromley? This year Bromley has spent close to $1 million in on-mountain improvements including a Brand new 3,000 square foot kids facility with a lunch room, all new ski and snowboard rental equipment just for kids. We gave the learning area a complete makeover, re-grading the terrain, adding a "Kids Cabin" with bathrooms, and installed a new 270' fully enclosed Carpet Lift.

So as you can see Bromley has a lot to be proud of, our ongoing commitment to families, a state of the art snowmaking system, a rich history of trendsetting within the industry, and of course are loyal customers... It's you that make Bromley everything it was, everything it is today, and everything we hope it will be in the future. Thank you, loyal Bromley customers, for making Vermont's Sun Mountain your mountain.
